Ricardo Rustia

Ricardo “Paddy” Rustia, 66, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday December 27, 2023, with his wife and daughter by his side.

Paddy was born on May 26, 1957, in Baliwag, Bulacan, Philippines to the late Elpidio and Norma Rustia. After graduating college, he worked as a photographer alongside his father for the Philippines Information Agency.

He immigrated to the United States to be with his wife and daughter in 2000. He worked at Temple University Hospital for over 10 years and has been with Cintas Corporation Services for the last 9 years.

Since moving to Philly, Paddy has been a dedicated Eagles, Sixers, and Phillies fan.

He enjoyed watching every game with family and friends, and continued to cheer on his teams, win or lose, like a true Philadelphian.

Paddy was the life of the party and the king of karaoke. He truly enjoyed life and made the best of every moment.

Above all, he was a devoted husband, loving father proud grandfather, caring brother, funny uncle, and a great friend. 

His legacy will continue to live on through the love of his life, wife Maurita, his pride and joy, daughter Patricia (John N.) and grandson Landyn, who took over his world from the day he was born.

He was preceded in death last June by his Eldest sister, Elma, but will be lovingly remembered by all of his siblings and in laws; Nelia, Nora, Renan (Lanie R.), Lillian, Maribel, Ruel (Sol R.), Edel, Normie, Archie Jr. (Lisa), Kaye (Mark), Elpidio, Exequiel, Enrico, Robbie, Barbara, along with all 12 nieces and 20 nephews. 

Paddy was truly a genuine and selfless person who always put the needs of those around him before himself. He was a natural jokester who loved to make people laugh and brought his smile and positive energy wherever he was.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, January 3rd from 9 to 10:30am at St. James Church, 8320 Brookside Road, Elkins Park, PA 19026.  His Words of Remembrance and Funeral Mass will begin at 10:45am.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
