Elizabeth Corcoran (Sullivan) Service Information

Elizabeth Corcoran (nee Sullivan) passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023, at the age of 95. She was a resident of Philadelphia and former resident of North Wildwood, NJ.

Loving mother to Frank (Loraine), the late Lisa Corcoran, Michael (Colleen), Patricia Ryzinski (the late Bruce), Tim (Terry), Larry (Michelena), Mary Pody (Anthony) and Anne Petela (Chris). Elizabeth was the cherished Grandmom to 20 and Gigi to 13.  She was predeceased by husbands, Francis G. Corcoran, and Daniel Confalone.

She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Elizabeth was a proud graduate of Little Flower High School for Girls, Class of 1946 and an inductee into the Little Flower Hall of Fame. She was a devoted Franciscan of the Third Order and a member of Catholic Daughters.

Elizabeth had a zest for life and lived life to the fullest. She loved singing, playing board games and was always up for a road trip or impromptu ride to the shore to see her beloved North Wildwood friends. She chose positivity and firmly believed in the power of prayer. Her pride and joy were her children trumped by her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren who were always in awe of her vocabulary, use of technology and knowledge of world events. She was open-minded and progressive, allowing her to relate to all who she encountered. Her generosity and compassion rounded out a woman who used her time on this earth to give back.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 9:00 -10:00 a.m. at Maternity BVM Church 9220 Old Bustleton Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19115 followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00.  Elizabeth chose to donate her body to science. A memorial mass in North Wildwood and interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cape May, NJ will take place at a later date.
