Brian Sweeney

Brian Patrick Sweeney was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and fashionista. He left this world suddenly on February 25th, 2024, at the age of 44.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA to Michael and Lucia Sweeney (Gambone) on August 30th, 1979. After graduating from Penn State University with a degree in Philosophy, Brian worked in Information Technology at his alma mater. When he wasn’t working, his passion was playing music with friends. He was never without his own soundtrack and had the ability to turn anything into an instrument. He was also an avid sports fan and loved kicking the soccer ball around the yard with his son, Miles. Brian had a larger-than-life personality, jokes for every occasion, and the ability to make friends no matter where he found himself. He will truly be missed but forever remembered in our hearts.

Brian is survived by his father Michael, son Miles, sister Michele (Drew), and nephews Conor and Julian. He was preceded in death by his mother Lucia.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, March 6th from 9 to 11am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 9304 Old Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia  PA 19115.  A Funeral Service will follow at 11am.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Miles D. Sweeney Trust Fund c/o Michael J. Sweeney or Michele Kane.
